Me = Sad
Whoa! For the first time, the Paolo family didn’t get on my nerves and I’m starting to see why ALL the other teams don’t care for the Weavers whatsoever.
But I’m totally disappointed over the ending of this episode, and I was struggling to keep back the tears myself.
Yeah, I’m totally gutted that the Gaghans were eliminated (damn you red bean!) but the way they handled themselves in defeat has really got me loving them all the more. I will so be missing Billy’s and Carissa’s quips (Do we have to run all the way to Costa Rica?)
Even though the Gaghans aren’t all that clever racers - I mean come on, it would have been easier to ask for directions at the bus station rather than walking around looking for the public parking and then taking forever finding that red bean, they are rapidly becoming my favorite racers of all time - they work well as a family, encouraging one another. Amazing. It’s too bad they had such bad luck. As Bill said in the beginning, “we had a lot of luck in the previous leg; all of it bad”. I felt so bad seeing Carissa trying to hold back her tears. Waaaaaah.
This episode was much more intense than previous episodes - the Godlewski sisters almost had a breakdown over who could do a better job driving. Also I really thought that Mama Weaver would leave the kids behind after they managed to get the car out of the rut.
All this time I was wondering to myself why all the other teams dislike “Team Florida” aka The Weavers and at the yield I found out why. They are such hypocrites, with their “holier-than-thou” attitude but back biting the other teams at the yield. If you’re angry, say so. Don’t say “we’re better than they are” and then proceed to show some very bad behavior.
The Paolo’s were first again! And I actually found myself cheering for them during the detour task (damn you editors for making me care!) Papa Paolo is STRONG! and it’s good to see the kids acknowledge him and Marion. So it’s all good (mostly) when they’re winning but I think the pressure is only going to increase more and I’m not sure how long they’ll be able to take it.
But it was hilarious when the Paolos came in first, and Papa Paolo hugged Phil. I think Mirna (TAR 5) could be getting jealous
So now I’m left rooting for the Linzes who CRACK me up. I loved it when one of the brothers congratulated Megan “You are now officially a Linz boy” tee-hee. But I still wish the Gaghans were in it. I really, really do.
I don’t about you but I found this episode more interesting and entertaining than any of the one’s Stateside.

I love Gaghan Family very much. It’s a lovely family that I havn’t seen before. With a bean that she can’t find, give this family eliminate is not true. Gaghan I love your family very much.
I hate Weaver.

the gaghans were my favorite from the very start. believe it or not, i cried when carissa tried to be strong and held back her tears. i love this family who embodies the family values that everyone should have. encouraging, supportive and with very nice manners. i wish i could give my congratulations to them for being such a good example all throughout the race. and thank you for participating. because they truly were very entertaining…

i hate the paolo’s, and i’m glad to see them gone! I absolutely LOVE the weaver famiyl! How are you supposed to act when theres like 12 people against you, shouting mean things at you, and you haven’t been home in, how long? people’s moods change, and people are going to get angry! I think Rolly’s soooo cute, i would love to go out with him. haha, he seems like a great guy! he’s so willing to do stuff and keep his team motivated, even when his mum flips and everyone gets moody! I love the weavers, they’re my favourite family! i watch it every week just to see them, and Rolly — haha. [true]. good luck, weavers!

Ditto, Karenjen on the little Gaghan girl. She was soooo tough — great family and Mom and Dad Gaghan should be VERY proud of what they’re teaching their children.
We now want the Weavers to win and consider the rest of the contenders (minus Mr. Brandsen, perhaps) as a pile of shallow, sophmoric characters — though Mr. Brandsen should, his daughters’ ages notwithstanding, at least tell them to buckle up and act like ladies, not …well, I’ll leave that out.
So the Weavers have American fans living/working in Scandanavia!
Stay real, stay honest, and discard the high-school-ish personalities of the other teams, like the Linz family, who act like drunken college freshmen. I too thought that kind of behavior was really cool, until I turned 14 over 30 years ago.

good grief, the weavers are such hypocrites. they cry and carry on about how mean everyone is while they make nasty remarks about everyone. they’re the last “nice family” left in the race? haha i think not. they’re not very smart and way too whiny for words.
