Thoughts from the race

With this first leg behind us maybe, just maybe this season won’t suck as badly as it could but if the Godlewski sisters are going to be in the race much longer I may go deaf.

Don’t gang up on me. I like the Godlewski sisters. They’re having a good time, racing pretty well (a first place finish and $20,000 speaks for itself) but they are shriekers!! Even Phil commented, “I know I’m only just getting to know you but do you always talk over each other?”

Yes Phil they do. All. The. Time. I feel sorry for the cameraman who has to be in that SUV all the time with them.

I know it’s early in the race but I’m rooting for the Gaghans. They’ve got a good spirit and the kids were not a hindrance that I thought they would be. Carissa Gaghan was pretty handy with the hammer during the tent pitching task and I loved the way her and her brother were singing “She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain” as the passed the Aiello men in the buggy challenge.

I also like the Aiellos - the sons-in-laws comments while rowing across the Delaware River had me cracking up. “I’m going to keep stroking here,” one SIL said. “Yeah. You keep stroking”. Hehehe

The Weavers did pretty well except for taking the wrong road at the beginning and almost being injured by a runaway buggy. For a self-confessed “scattered” family, they worked well together when they decided to do the Build It task. But I could tell that son, Rolly, was disappointed that they were third. Least I forget, they’re shriekers too. I will definately be going deaf this season.

The Linz family were pretty funny but they seriously underestimated their strength in the Buggy It task, going from the middle of the pack to second last, narrowly escaping elimination.

The other families are currently blips on my horizon except for the Paolos who at the beginning started to get on my nerves. Oldest son, DJ’s comment about not wanting to feel guilty for his life started getting my hackles raised but the way he and his brother, Brian treat their mom, Marion is horrible. Just horrible.

Plus DJ’s obnoxious, type-A personality is not helping the team at all. In a major early karma jolt, the Paolos get lost trying to find SoHo. You could see DJ’s blood pressure rising along with his complaining, insulting attitude.

I don’t like this family. And going by this poll for next episode’s elimination prediction, you agree with me.

And let’s not forget the clue. Marion dropped a clue after they finished the flag task and the sons nixed going back to get it. “We’ve got to take risks.” I hope Phil drop kicks your ass back home for forgetting that clue. But my prayers weren’t answered in this episode as it was the Blacks that were eliminated first.

The kids took it badly but their parents said that they’re proud of them. Awwww. But their elimi

But I’m still waiting for some kind of word on a penalty of some sort for the Paolos for leaving that clue. Please Phil, don’t disappoint me.
