My friend, Jeff Smith and I sent in applications and a audition tape in February for The amazing Race 8 before we found out it was only open for family of four. Do we still have a chance for getting on the Amazing Race 9?

Hi Cathy, I checked the eligibility requirements and application procedure document and it says
“Unless you are applying with a new teammate, if you have previously applied for THE
AMAZING RACE (the “Program”) but were not selected as a participant, please do not
re-apply. We will not consider any new application or submission you may submit
unless you are applying with a new teammate.”
I think this means that you don’t have to submit your application.

How come the amazing race series only contains americans why are there no australians or other country nationals included.

Hi Art, that is the rules of the show. I have a feeling that since it’s an American production they would want to be only open to Americans.
I’ll cite you an example of The Rebel Billionaire, Richard Branson’s reality tv show ala The Apprentice. Even though he’s British and the show went around the world, all the contestants were American.
However, the creators of The Amazing Race are open to other countries buying the rights to the show to produce their own version of The Amazing Race.

I wonder if the australian broadcaster (Channel 7) would be interested in buying the rights for and Australian Amazing Race (I would certainly apply)!!!

Dan: I’m not sure about whether there any Australian broadcast channels interested. I’ll have a look around and let you know. But I know that there are definately a lot of Australians who would love to participate. I get a lot of e-mails from Aussie fans asking if they can apply for The Amazing Race.
Amy: For Season 9, it’s back to 2 member teams. They don’t have to be related but they should have some prior connection, just like on other seasons. I don’t think registered immigrants (do you mean green card holders?) are allowed.

i think that maybe the americans are afraid of us aussies. i would certainly be open to a challenge if so called up for the amazing race. i already have a team .myself and my female boss at the local brasserie restaurant.
why can’t aussies be in it. i ask? is this discrimination? come on usa what do you have to loose but $1,000,000.00 cold hard cash!!!!!

The application says you must have proof of a valid passport or proof that you have applied for one…how do you show proof that you’ve applied for it?

Please I really really want something diffant this season. To be more fair to female fans and for a fun swist We should have the 9th season of the race be all Female teams of four just for a change I really want a female to have a fair change to make the fanail 3 teams and win. I love this show!

We sent in an audition tape for season 6 and obviously were not selected. We want to send in a new tape for season 9. The official TAR rules say you can send a letter stating you want them to disregard your previous audition tape. Anyone know if this is true or are they sticklers about absolutely not accepting any new applications unless you have a new teammate (which they also state in the rules)?? Seems kind of contradictory.

What about if you go to one of the open casting calls? Does that not count towards their ruling of not auditioning again with the same teammate??

I think the rule on sending in a letter to disregard your previous application is if you don’t want the producers to consider your application at all.
If you do go to a casting call you can enquire if you can audition since you’ve already sent in a tape.

I suggest you check out your nearest CBS affiliate tv station to see if they will be holding a casting call. You might still be able to apply.

I hear there’s rumors of an “all star” season 10 of The Amazing Race. No! They people they pick for those shows aren’t stars, they’re just people who have already had their chance at adventure! I’m really hoping they don’t do that becuase I just started watching the show and convinced my Brother-in-law to apply with me. What do you think? Will there be a ‘reality TV all star’ season 10? And do you think they’d have a brother and sister-in-law on the show? We’d be great! : ) Thanks.

Hey Anna, right now those are just rumors. Nothing has been firmed out. A lot of fans are mixed on the idea of having an Amazing Race reunion.

Well I hope they don’t do that, I need a crayz adventure before I have kids! And you never said anything about a brother/sister in law duo. We’re pretty much just like regular brother and sister, I pretty much NEED to go on the show, and my sister and he could really use the money. If the producers are worried about “good tv” or something, I’m telling you, we’d rock! : )

So when are they going to let Australians into the race. I can’t wait till they make an international race viewable to that country. It gets boring watching Americans all the time
